Kindergarten Teacher and Director – Kookaburra group

Hi,

My name is Eva and I am one of the kindergarten teachers and the director here, at Yarraman Oaks Primary Kindergarten.

I started working at this kindergarten in 2008. I choose this kindergarten because I leave locally, and I know this community. I am passionate about teaching young children, and I highly value the vibrancy of the cultures we all bring with us from home. As a multilingual person myself, I am an advocate of preserving and teaching the children their mother tongue and their ancestor’s culture.

I was born in Romania, and I am an ethnic Hungarian. With my husband, we have three adult daughters, and we are actively involved in the Hungarian community life in Melbourne. I taught Hungarian language at Victorian School of Languages for 25 years.

Hello, my name is Merinda and I am very excited to join Yarraman Oaks Primary Kinder as an Early Childhood Teacher. I have been a Prep teacher at Yarraman Oaks Primary School since 2019 but have been a primary school teacher for over 20 years in Sydney, London and Melbourne. 

I am especially passionate about supporting children’s learning in their early years of education and providing meaningful and engaging play based learning experiences.

When I am not teaching, I love spending time with my husband, 11 year old son and cavoodle Jasmine. I love trips to the beach, gardening and my favourite food is chocolate!

I look forward to getting to know all of the families and children that form part of the Yarraman Oaks Kindergarten community!

Hi, my name is Roshni Ratnayaka and I’m from Sri Lanka.  I’m so excited to join Yarraman Oaks Kindergarten as an educator. I moved last year from New Zealand and whilst I was there, I worked a in kindergarten for over 6 years and achieved my ECE and care diploma.

I believe that every child is unique and has the right to be in a secure and safe environment to stimulate their creativity and critical thinking whilst developing positive attitudes and compassion to others. It’s important to me respecting the diversity of heritage language identity and culture of their families.

My husband and I are parents to two lovely boys and a labradoodle called Loki. I love reading books, doing craft projects, baking and being outdoors with my family. I’m also looking forward to getting to know more about our kindergarten community and doing the best I can with them.

Volunteers at Yarraman Centre Kindergarten

We are very lucky to have some wonderful volunteers who regularly support our program. New volunteers are welcome. However prior to commencement they are interviewed by the Director, need to have a Working With Children’s Check, complete the Induction checklist for volunteers and comply with all Yarraman Oaks Primary Kindergarten’s Policies and Procedures.

Mission Statement

For Yarraman Oaks Primary Kindergarten to provide quality education, support and care for children aged 3 to 5 of families living, working and studying in the City of Greater Dandenong.
